I recently acquired a pair of Void Arcline S horn loaded 12" subs but can't find any official specs for them online (although I have found some forum posts that suggest that they are 750W RMS and the frequency range is 35-120Hz). Can anyone tell me anything about more about them and how best to use them? The reason I ask is that I've just come across an old thread on here about Void Psycho Subs saying that they shouldn't be run individually and I wondered if the same might apply to these.

Single 12", FLH. You can run them in singles, but the horn mouth is small so you need to be aware of the dramatically increased thermal compression - you need to increase the HPF vs a pile of four or more, and also reduce the real power you put into the cabinets.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not particularly clued up on the science behind this so I'm not exactly sure what dramatically increased thermal compression is, although I suspect it must be something to do with the driver overheating. I'm also not sure I get how having a pile of them would reduce the thermal compression. Wouldn't each individual speaker still have the same small horn mouth?

Realistically, I don't think there is any prospect of me buying any more than the two that I've got so what would you think would be a suitable HPF frequency and what would you recommend reducing the power to. Would 40Hz and 1000W be reasonable? (I think the driver is rated at 750W)
