I thought that board behind the magnet is at a specified distance from the front baffle board, so wouldn't moving it forward & backwards affect the sound & efficiency of the box ?
I got a box builder to try a volt driver in his super scoopr the other day & it couldn't fit.
The board was too near to the back of the speaker & touching, preventing it from fitting.
Cutting a recess in the board, doesn't that affect the sound ?
Suppose you cut a hole straight through it, that sureley must affect the sound.

Abrupt, where are you mate ? we need some answers urgently.
Can I ask, the fella 'Dom' who's on here is that the same person who has the super scoopers on speaker plans projects loaded with PD850s ? (They look brutal)
Isn't the Void V-18 1000s an exact copy in size to the PD 1850s ? (Except the mounting hole where the Void is slightly larger).

I think i can answer my own question
!! just checked both void and PD1850 measurements and they are both 187mm deep so the voids will fit into a standard 1850 super scooper and every other 1850 application no problem.

Can I get a few answers on the following question please ?
What is the exact size of the hole (diameter) to be cut in the baffle for fitting a Void v18 driver ?
What is the exact size of the hole (diameter) to be cut in the baffle for fitting a PD1850 driver ?

cutting a hole in the panel behind the magnet would be the worst thing you could ever do to a scoop, draw a picture of a scoop side ways on showing the inner panels then draw lines showing the air being passed through both holes throat & the hole in back plate then you will see
i would be very surprised if it sounded good, & throat area would be messed up
what i would do in your position is get a baffle to fit over the front of the box to bring the magnet forward

As I can't get no one to answer my question, I've been hunting round & found the details for the PD1850, but still can't find the measurement for the Void V-18 1000.
