right i need to replace the case on my computer [been bashed about the past few years]. Feel like rack mounting it, so i can rackmount all the other bits i have and have a tidy solution.

Its replacing an Antec P800 so im looking for similar quality, nice thick metal, 120mm fan slots, anti vibration HDD cage mounts etc etc. Will be using all silent components to fit it out.

Is a desktop ATX MOBO [full size], with full sized PSU [corsair HX modular jobby], needs 3-4x 3.5" internal mounts, and 1-2x 5.25" external mounts for bluray/dvd drives. Needs room to fit the prolimatech megahalem cpu cooler in [159mm height off CPU].

cheers folks :)

Antec do a rackmount... (im an Antec fanboy!) nice and deep and does everything you need.
1st link... Antec's...
2nd link... copy, but 1/3 the price.
or... buy a rack shelf and "bolt" you old case to it.

If it sounds like a gorilla is trying to escape, turn it down.

question, would my PSU fit in the Antec rackmount? it looks like it ships with a custom one, would mine go in? 140mm fan, 50% longer than usual etc etc...

Would this baby do?

Def takes a standard ATX PSU (most 4u do, but 3U tend to require servergrade ones which cost a packet)

The first Antec link seems to have been removed and teh second one looked a bit lacking in drive mount due to the fan...

Bit of a thread hi-jack I suppose, but .....

Does anyone want a heavy duty tower case ? Pretty sure it'd be classified as "server grade"
"midi-tower" form factor, bomb-proof, 4 x 5.25 external bays, 4 x 3.5 internal bays (I think).

Would need collection from London E2 .... need it gone soon - otherwise the skip looms for it.

Also got a swish-looking Antec piano-black case - more of a mini-tower - very good nick- in original carton .... need that gone too - wouldn't mind a coupla beers for that.

If you get a chance, i would put some sort of fabric removable filter on the intake of the fan !!!!

So much crap gets sucked in to PC's, and be VERY careful if your using Dry Ice... its beautiful stuff but ruins all equipment ! Especially computers as i found :)
