Is it possible to convert the MT121 to take a 10" PD for midrange from say 200-1.8kHz? I have 2 sitting around in original box from PD in prestine new condition that I would like to use in a multi- way fully horn loaded 3 or 4 way mobile DJ system. OR any plans you guy's can suggest for this driver, many thanks!

To get much above 1kHz, you're going to need a fairly sophisticated horn design, probably incorporating a phase plug. If you're lucky you might find someone who has already done a fibreglass horn which is suitable.

this guy has some nice horns for 10s on his ebay store. Have purchased from him before and all worked out well. http://www.ebay.com/sch/tsgaudio/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

Thanks ceharden nice to hear from UK, there is a Ramsdell (ramsdell audio, FL USA) horn 10" with a phase plug at $245 each in F/G he told me he would have to redo the phase plug for another fee ($$$$) so my alternate is from a China designed(???) tsgaudio which b grade is using but the only thing is that it is not F/G it is some plastic material and I do not know if I can trust it for resonance although I would have to put it in a BB enclosure. Then I would have to recalculate the throat to take a phase bung in front and attach it to the throat.
I do not know how to calculate and modify this TSG Horn? How does the horn sound b grade and what driver and crossover settings are you using??? I was thinking of Simon's 3way mid-top on speakerplans and use the 10' horn with the phase plug but then again I do not think he calculated the throat area for this so it may sound odd. Thanks for all the help, anyone else? OR any plans out there? How about cutting the MT102 in half??? |

I just bought drivers from the guy for a good price and there was nothing shady about the deal. I am considering buying one of his 10 or 12 horns but I am not currently using them. Not a lot of stuff like that for sale in the states, so I thought it might be a useful option.
