1850 are not capable of very low frequencies.
You need at least 4 of them to have something below 50Hz. |

The best drivers for these cabinets are PD-1850 or Void V18.
Bear in mind what Laurin said is true, these bins dont drop very low they are more of an 'all rounder' , they drop lower in stacks of 6 coupled, otherwise they dont go very low. |

Well as its called the 1850 horn, I'd put a decent bet on saying the PD1850 would be the best driver for it.... And yeah Laurins absolutely right, If you want a horn loaded speaker that goes really, really low; you want scoops.

alright nice thanks heaps for the replys, there turning out very helpful.
My situation is I want 2 bins for low end bass, im looking at a behringer europower ep2500 amp which is 2 channel, do you think I would be better off building 2 scoops or 2 1850 horn bins, and I realise the 1850 horn bins are intended for 18'' drivers but could I use 15'' drivers or would I be better off building scoops with 15s, THANKS HEAPS GUYS, AS YOU CAN TELL IM NEW TO THIS GAME SO THANKS HEAPS FOR THE POSTS, REALLY APPRESHIATE IT, KEEP EM COMING POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE

If you want to use a 15" driver, use a box design that is made for a 15".
And if you want low end bass generally you want a larger cone. (There are exceptions, lab horn, punisher etc) A behringer ep2500 may well struggle with the low stuff on the end of a v18 or an 1850. They're quite hungry drivers. That being said I've never tried it - I'm sure there are people on here who have though. |

I would go with PD.1850 or Void V18-1000, maybe with 18sound 18NLW9600 or PD.1851
Any of these drivers would work in many scoop designs. Honestly if you are thinking using 15" drivers in 18" designs, I am not that sure you really realize what low bass means... |

![]() Also, no point buying premier drivers, and feeding them with low quality sub amps. |

This is a link for a nice 15" sub for a cheap eminence driver.
This is a good starting point "to get your feet wet". http://www.ich-war-hier.de/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/kappa15lf_bassreflex_subwoofer.png |
