Yea, they would have been top stuff disco wise about 10/15 years ago when the technology was new, but now it's cheap old hat stuff.

Not saying that all old stuff is bad, far from it I love the old pro stuff (Goldenscans, cyberlights, NATs etc.).
It's all about the music & the vibe, so enjoy it while you can.

A guy i know of is selling 4 Martin MX-4 Scans in excellent condition with cases and controller. They may be ideal for you.

I also know of a guy selling 4 of the Robe 250CT Scans (which are very very good!) including full black hex cases!

PM or email me

so I would say good choice for very small shows but perhaps not big enough for anything larger

another good little head to look out for second hand is the robe 160xt, usually sell for about £500 a pair second
hand and do everything you need, being very bright as well

I agree with CSG on the robe XT160's , i have 10 of them and preffer them to minimacs, if buying 2nd hand, make sure the head fan has been changed, if not get it done and it should last you years , fans are not expensive .. about a 10'er + vat direct from robe and very easy to change
Pyrotechnics... its not rocket science, well.... actually it is !! :o)

for mirrored fixtures.... if you can find some ClayPaky MiniScan 150/300/HPEs you will be laughing.... try and find the HPEs as they are the best of the 3... but the 150s and 300s are still awesome lights.....

we have 4 minimac 150 wash at work.
Never had a problem with them. while the mac 250s were always being repaired.
Dont think weve ever had to take down the 150s.
Ive only ever seen all 6 of our mac 250s up at 1 time!
