Yes, but what is pleasant to hear for the ears with a pair of boxes may not the best for building large scale system, if the components do not follow the requirements of physics. Let me show you an example, sometimes a small clipping amplifier without good damping and phase response could have better sound effect on a pair of speakers such bass-reflex boxes than a proper amp. However once building a large scale system, best damping, even phase response become dominant features otherwise the random phase uncontrolled free-floating radiator elements ruin the output. |

guys can we back on track please, the pkn4000 doesnt deliver enough power the 6000 would but we only have around a £1k maybe £1.2k

As a user of fp6400; they do sound good and are ultra-reliable but personally you won't get the full potential of pd/void loaded hogs. They will sound nice but for scoops you need something with a bit more grunt. If you have a strict budget then Between the two I would take the lab, but for a bit more money you could get a k8 and upgrade later. Infinite8, qsc5050hd's, even 5000vz still do the job well. |
