Getting bit impatient waiting for ASS plans, so looking to experiment on Super Scooper.
Instead of hijacking some'ones thread, thought I would start this one. This should really be a poll. After reading plenty of older Posts, I guess it's out of the following, 1. P1850 2. Void V18-1000 3. PD186 4. Volt Considering depth of bass and cost also, not just SPL. Call me cheap, but realistically, I wouldn't consider any driver more expensive than PD1850. Isn't Void supposed to come out shortly with a dedicated scoop driver as per Rog's post?

Levyte: Look at Rog's thread titled "I've lost the plot" below in this same section. He doesn't consider the 1850 an ideal scoop driver because its vas is too low.

Looks like Rog is bringing out a new scoop box to complement the Void V18-1200 with some fancy " ... expanding chemical that sets like concrete".

Yeah, I read that.. Jolly interesting.. But I need something fairly soon, and I'm sure the new driver is gonna be mucho denaro... I've heard lots about V18-1000/PD186 in scooper, so I guess I have to hear either them for myself. But I do know it is possible to get the right scoop/driver combo to play low enough without needing subs below them. |

Yup, heard that as well... So all we gotta do is come up with slightly modified Superscooper tuned lower for PD186/V18-1000 (larger rear chamber + extra throat thingy ?), and we have a public domain, Bad arse scoop bin. I like the idea of being tuned for choice of 2 different drivers, so driver shortage won't screw things up, like the last PD or FANE shortage. Edited by levyte357 - 01 January 2007 at 3:05pm |

Those new prototype Fane drivers I heard and felt at the Rec certainlly came very close to PD1850.
And they are 1000w rms.
Might be worth waiting till those come out levyte357.
Except how did Mark Iration get hold of 10 of them if they are prototypes.Hmmmm, I thought prototypes would only be 1.

Levyte, the Volt driver cannot fit in a standard super scooper.
The rear chamber in the scooper would have to be adjusted by some means.
The Volt RV4504 driver do not fit a super scooper built to the exact specifications.
The rear of the speaker hits the board in the rear chamber & the speaker itself protrudes forward nearly an inch.
