hahaha! the 186 needs an18" driver and only pro audio subs will do [of particular specification] maybey design a reflex cab for it and use it either in a car in your house or as a sub for a monitoring set up! [seriusly wont work mate sory nice one for trying though fair play] hope you do find a good use for it though! |

i take it by this you mean ones suitable for the 186horn? in pounds sterlin the pd186 [which is about average price wise but specs wise is pretty much optimum for this horn] is around £160<170 [which is about 400 euros i think. have alook on www.speakerstore.nl and pro audio parts for the precesion devices pd186 [click on the link at the bottom of the page for pro audio parts web site] and remember you need at least four of these horns to get the best out of them! if you cant afford this and need a large soundsystem im afraid your going to have to go band pass/reflex bass bins, which will cost between 70<100 pounds per driver, depending on exactly which design you go for. is it me or have i just noticed that in europe the cost difference btween the pd186 and pd1850 is only about 100euros [dont know the exchange rate] but here the difference is more like 130 quid [nearly half as much again] or did i misread pd186 438 euros +vat pd1850 525 euros +vat, seems like the price difference between the two drivers on the main land seems to be smaller than the price gap in the uk? maybey my maths/knowledge of exchange rate is crap! |

im presuming that it was originaly designed with a reflex design in mind [i think i used to have a mutant 15" in a car box, no idea wot model it was, i got it when i was realy young and we used it for beach partys with about 100w going into it but thats another matter] ill see if i can find out if there were plans for that particular driver. |

http://www.alphacaraudio.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index& ;cPath=89_34 they sell the 15" mutant subs there so im guesing itd work in these boxes if not [ie, you want to build it your self] do you have a link for the t/s parameters and specifications for this driver? |

wow no one on the car audio section has ever put up a post with the word mutant in it [according to the search function] i find that a little hard t obelieve! anyway you best bet is to put up a post in the car ausio forum asking someone to help you find an enclosure suitable for this driver [preferably with a link to this model on the mutant website, if they have one, i couldnt find it but......] maybey if you got your hands on another one you could build a 15" version of the decware wicked one [but i dont know if this would work or not] put up a post in the car audio forum mate. someone should be able to help. |
