Members,
A mate of mine who's not on Speakerplans has just acquired some of the new Turbomax 1200 drivers.
He's just realized that they are a bit deeper than the PD1850's & Void V-18 1000's. (Ain't measured against the Volt 18'' drivers yet)
He planned to fit them in some old scoops which he said he had specially built & tuned for PD1850's & they have the board in the rear chamber a few mm closer to the front than standard Super Scoopers.
Problem is they don't fit as the back of the magnet hits the board before sitting flush. Luckily he has other Scoops with a larger chamber to use.
So has anyone tried these drivers in standard Super scoopers as yet to make sure they fit ?
If they do fit, & the magnet is closer to the rear panel than the PD's or V18's could this fry/cook the driver ?
Cheers.

Boss, your best bet is to ask Irration steppas there using the new Turbo max, or call Roy one of the guys who designed these monstors.

Champ, Iration use Shortmans scoops, so they must fit. (Wont go into rear chambers again as you know)
Roy would more than likely have no idea about various scoops, but I may try him.

Cheers mate, that's about 215mm.
Looking at the plans, there's about 202mm between the front & the rear board. If I've calculated correctly.
I think the magnet of the driver will be either touching or very close to the board in the rear chamber. (Luckily in these scoop designs the drivers are front mounted)
That's if it fits at all.
Need to send one to Insomnia.
