Just completing fresh install of 7 x64.
Install fairly quick, windows updates slow, often failing. Have tried install on SSD & Various HDs, same result. Wasn't like this last year... Is it due to all the new '8 fanboys updating ? |

In a similar vein, every so often the Mrs complains of no
internet connection. Her computer (well it is my laptop that she has commandeered so it could be just karma) is seeing the rest of the network so that bit is
working and internet connection is always fine on my PC and my phone’s wi-fi access
sees it too. As with your problem a router reboot fixes it. |

Had these problems till I changed my router, had to re-set on average once every 2-3 days. Since changing router not a single problem in 9 months.
The new router is a TP-Link and is so much better than the D-Link it replaced. Tony

Usually DHCP settings and crap firmware. A commom prob with routers, then dropping packets.
I've had a few with issues. At home a crap router supplied by AOL has been switched on for at least 3 years. Not one issue.
