But was mostly trial and error. That's how you learned back then.

Yeah but most of these idiots who do these free parties well the small ones don't listen to people who know about sound systems. I suggested he buy four Turbosound TSE118 and if he can find some four EAW KF650 cabs but although he has quite a bit of money he decided to go with RCL, Skytec etc...He said he just wanted a big stack so his sound system is quite big but not very loud at all and sounds crap. So he's not also after all these years still a newbies as far as knowing about sound systems and drivers, T/S parameters, frequency response etc...he's also stubborn and thinks a big stack looks better even if it is all worth nothing more than just firewood.

but if he just wants to have fun and play a bit of music, what's the harm? people can choose to listen to it or not.

things change when you start doing events that people are paying in to, and have an expectation of a certain standard.

but everything has its place.

People who will not listen to good experienced advise tend to be the idiots that still buy sound equipment with their eyes and not their ears but you generally find that eventually the penny will drop and they will change track---they will never ever admit that they were wrong though.

Of course they're having fun!!
It's a matter of pictorial perspective. What looks to be grass at the end of the pic is actually thousends of acres of prime Amazonian forest. What looks like concrete is, intact, literally millions of people all raving to these super star djs playing from up on a massive mountain. The line in the middle of the 'concrete' is in fact a huge 8 lane main road leading to the city under the djs out of camera perspective.
Wow, with a huge gig like that, I'd be givin it large with a Stella!
Freedom of choice, choice of freedom.

There are those for whom a large Stella, or even several such ladies, would be the answer to their dreams  Big smile

A large stella consumed me some years back <fnah, fnah>
