wooo! ran the wsxtras(like it..) last night, just a pair in one stack each one fed from a bridged ep2500 at 8 ohms. woah! shocking! shook shot glasses off of the bar and made for some seriously nauseating bass if you put your head near the horn mouth. the room had about 250/300 people in it and they easily provided enough thump to shake the whole place. having tried real wsx's in a pair with about 900w each, these certainly were louder, we set the hpf to 40hz and sat back and enjoyed.

seriously impressed, next time we'll try about 1500w into each..might need to get some bigger tops though.

oh yeah, the ep2500's at 8 ohm stayed reasonably cool and i certainly havent got any complaints as to the output. 400 for 2 x 1300w is pretty good value in my book, we tried them at 4 ohm, but they got pretty hot pretty fast and as they were going to be ragged all night and seeing as we had a spare ep2500 with us i thought it was much the better option to run at 8 ohm.

also anyone know of any drivers suitable for a wsx that'll be available in the US?

cav in bournemouth had them specially made for the slinky tour, apparently they were large barndoors that bolted onto the front of stacks of 6 wsx, lengthening the horn path and coupling the cabs.

only heard of them never seen them.

Easy to design and make. Probably just doubles the mouth area in a path length of about 1metre. Expansion only on one panel.
