SD18?

I would stick with the X1s.. with a steep highpass at 30 - 35hz.. they take a lot to beat!

By all accounts the best crossover range seams to be :

high pass @ 35hz (24db or 48db slope)
low pass @ 63hz - 70hz (24db slope)... to HD15s (which is what I assume your running them with??).

This is from Doms experiments / measurments... and I can confirm it also works well with my own rig.

Cheers,

A.

i've got X1's V1000 loaded and at the moment i dont have any HD's, so im running them up to about 90Hz, with my mid tops starting at about 110Hz and the X1's sound sick.

Cant wait to build some HD's or similar to add kick tho...

Your forgetting something chaps

you keep talking about LOWS, but your forgetting the actual sound of a horn, especially a scoop

you can't beat it on D&B and dub etc

Don't worry Adam, I will get you to sell your X1's soon

And I'm assuming all this is regarding indoors, right ?

I do exactly the same thing when using them as a small setup.. (X1s + A.S.S SP5)... 80 -90hz seam to be about right and as you say.. it is rather sick.. suprised you leave a gap between (perhaps this is because of the spec of your mid/tops?? Dont know what your using).

Mykey... something that beats X1s for the 30hz - 70hz has got to be very very good to get me to part with them!! Indoors OR out.
