My X15's have top hats and Dom's put top hats on his XM's. Just load the cabs and put a small piece of wood under each side and move the cab back and forth until it is resting very slightly forward. then mark this point and mount the top hat that far back from the front of the cab. Obviously it'll depend on whether you've used different drivers from spec as to where you will need to fix it.

I ordered my top hats from Terralec, along with a load of other mounting hardware at the time. Seem to be fine and up for the job. Think my heavy duty stands came from there too. So long as they're rated for 40kg you'll be fine

@Edward - you could start a new thread for this question, but a quick search for 'crossover schematic' on the forum came up with this thread, which looks like it has the required schematic. There have also been recent threads on the forum with regards to building ~600W passive xovers for these boxes (ceharden was the thread starter maybe)
Cheers, Angus P.S. Searchy search search ![]() P.P.S. You may well need to change the xover frequencies. PAP is currently shipping the VXM crossover as the recomended one for the SN15MB/BMD450 combo but your coasial driver may well benefit from different parameters - others may well be able help here. but if you have the design of the type of xover you need, modifying it to fit your needs should be easier... |
