Hi
Couple of queries.. Maybe should be in the nube section ... 1) i have two matrix xp3000h heavyweights I use these to power 4 1850s 8ohms Currently doing this at a driver a side and only with13amp They sound nice but wondered if i can run bridge in 4 ohms to increase the power...?? I have seen a couple of bench tests on here whuch state they can run at around 2400 in 4ohm bridge but wondered if anyone was doing this for a number of hours?? Is it worth doing for the extra hearoom 2) Also wondering if i should ditch the matrix n go for a crest 10004? Been offered one for cheap n considering this. Obvious issues of weight n age are putting me off. Any thoughts??? Ps there is already someone in the q one the crest if i dont want it |

If I answer according to experience, it'll start another argument...
So let's say, some 3-4k amplifiers, are more suited than others, when it comes to 4 ohm bridge, and use with heavy sub material. However, the Matrix new guy sounds strong on 8 ohm stereo, may do what you need on 4 ohm stereo. Edited by levyte357- - 27 January 2013 at 4:21pm |

I part exchanged one Matrix XP 3000 in return for an XT5000MF which is 2500W @ 4 ohms. I'm sure if they spoke to you you'd be able to work out a deal with Sinfinity on here, and as Lev said - they are the business!!

Not sure if a class A/B Amp is the way forward if you have limited power access..
A XT7000MF needs much more power than 13A to do what its capable of! |

In UK, you will always have at least 32A ring, with 13A sockets. It's all about what's hanging off the ring main, and if decent cabling used in the building. It's the XT7 I've heard at 8 ohm stereo. Edited by levyte357- - 27 January 2013 at 6:12pm |

Will try a modded one on a triple TRS stack soon, compared to the XT6000G thats normally used to power a stack of 3 218s.. should have some more headroom and different tone..
on a 32A phase of course :) |

Have you had a word with Andy?
He should be the only one to answer your question.. 4Ohm bridge wont be good to almost any amp on a long therm point of view. Thats 2 ohm per channel and stresses the Amp much more than at 4/8 ohm per ch. Current draw will also rise.. |

i asked Andy about the Matrix xp3000h on 4Ohm bridge a few months ago, ino you've decided against it anyway, but just for the reference he said dont do it. That said i know some people have run 4ohm bridge on a regular basis without problem...
