I use the 7000MF's on Subs and it's the best sound I've ever had. Only one cab per channel at 8 ohms though. ( 2.5K into 8 ohms).

..sold mine yesterday for 850 delivered in person...Cool Was obviously worth 850 to the buyer. Deal done! I wonder what prices this forum would have suggested for a second hand XT5000g then.
Its just a ride.

That's just it, it's only worth what some ones willing to pay for it, we all know selling your stuff outside the forum is usually more profitable, just the way things go.

I would imagine about £650 being an average used price for one if you wa to sell it on the forum?

Not really, there's a 7kmf on here now for £900, muu new amp with more power...
If these Ome up at £900 then that puts older amps at much less...
Also depends on what the a ls cost new, which obviously differs between people tht are on & off the forum

JWDRAIN INTERESTING FTR 18 - 4080fd how many ohms are your 18 "s  and how haveyou wired your XT5000MF

My understanding correct me if im wrong ?  Matrix XT5000MF only provides 4 ohms if your speakers are 8 ohms ? Then how did you make 4 ohms amp

compatible for 8 ohms speakers finally i wont ask this question again lol you know the saying get more than 1 opinion

Anyone  Wink

I have a pair of eminence omega 18 " 800w RMS 8 ohms im thinking of

buying two more equals four  plus the peavey CS4000 which provides 8 ohms

How would you wire these parallel ?? Into stereo ??  Or should i invest in the FTR 18 - 4080FD which also provides 8 ohms which sounds like a clever puncy speaker

Or is there much difference between the eminence above in comparison to the celestion FTR 18 - 4080FD ??

Kind regards

Turbo !

You are mistaken. The impedance of the speaker load depends upon the impedance of the drivers and how they are connected, for example two 8ohm drivers in parallel is a 4ohm load. The total speaker load connected to an amp determines how much power is delivered, the amp does not determine this.  An solid state amp will be designed for a certain minimum impedance but it will happily drive higher impedances too.. just with less total output power.

How are these being used, what cabinets are they in?

No, the CS4000 will driver any load down to 2ohms where it develops 2000w/ch.

The Celestion is a better driver but again what cab would they be used in? You can't just stuff any driver in a box, there is a lot more involved in picking an appropriate drivers for a particular application.
