Does anyone have the plans for the 1850s horns with a 15'' bass?

you are better offf just building the 1850 the way it should be, theyre worth the time, i dont really see other reason for wanting a 15" version other than needing a smaller cab, if that what your looking for you might aswell go for a different more compact design.

I once saw a sp member that made the 1850 plan suitable for a 15'' driver.
His name was Swesound then, I thought he changed it to Lhudjager.

The PD1550 simulates almost identical to the PD1850 in the 1850 horn.
If you take the difference Re into account it is hard to tell the diffrence in the responseplot in Honresp (not exactly the right way to do i know, but interesting). ![]() Black is 1550 at 3.0V and gray is 1850 at 2.83V. If the 1550 is given 2.83V it will be a little bit lower than the 1850. 4 x PD1550 in 1850 horns with 600watt each should give you 140db from 46hz and up. ![]() The PD1850 would of course be better because it has higher power rating, lower power compression, more surface area and higher Xmax. And would therefore play louder and have a little bit more low end extension. |

The best idea would be to design a horn for the specific 15".
If a horn is scaled down it will result in less performance. (Lower sensitivity, less low-end and probably a more peaky response.) |

He made it for the eminence kappa lf.
It was the best simming driver in that cab.

id sooner build some sl36 clones scaled for 15" drivers. more direct horn path. 18" version has similar size and performance to 1850 horn. once scaled to 15" you open up more kick horn opportunities in sl36 style cab when you realise that the 15" version doesnt drop as low as you'd hoped.

REFLEX ALL THE WAY.... (however, im playing with horns again...) That ok Mister Valiant? :)

Agreed, to my ears the sl36 was a better sounding cab anyway, it dropped lower and went higher without sounding honky.
