Yes maybe at 90hz...but beyond 50 hz where is the "real" sub bass section it got less than
100dB@1cab 1w/1m..
Simulated other designs which gave quite more output around 40hz ect..
I think LAB is a great cab,in huge stacks its might be awesome, just wondered about the "low" subbass spl from 1 cab in comparison with some other 18inch horns.Wacko
i dont have capaticy for 6 or 8 subs per side.
horn allways need more than 1 cab to go that low with high spl, so if you haven't capacity for 4horn maybe vented or passband subbass would be better for you, look GSUB, X1 ...
here is a simulation between Lab(2x12), 12PI(2X12), wsx(1X18)and Super Bass Horn(1X18).
For all simulation grey is 1 horn, black is 4horn:
12PI:

LAB:

WSX:

SBH:

Hey dj-panoramix!
I have capacity for max. 4 horns per side!
but not for 4 12pi..they re bigger than labs as u know.
But it was in fact the dip @42hz of the lab like ibex posted what i was talking about.
Think specially these frequencies are important for a great deep bassdrum ect...
but correct me if im wrong!it is just my guess...
maybe the 12pi doesnt have it but hes quite bigger with maybe same output as
smaller 18inch horns.just wondered if theres maybe sth special on lab or 12pi u cant see
in the simulations and if it is good for rock live sound...

the simulations u made are with 2,83V i guess.
but two eminence 12 labs in parallel have 3ohms!
It would be 1,73V i think..

LABS just about work with four in a stack but you really need 6 to get a flat response. As someone who has owned LABS I would recommend you go for the 18s - they will allow you much more flexibility. Unless you want to look at tapped horns which might give you the SPL and flexibility...

the sim have been made with 2,0V but this isn't a problem, i just made the sim to show about 1horn vs 4... Wink
what kind of top(mid high) will you use with your future sub ?
i think peoples will need more info to give you correct answer.

yeah okay!
I already have two Mt122 tops with rcf l12p110k and 2"BMS horn
and want to build two more
(so 2 per side).
Also have 4 RCF L18S800 Speakers.
But i know they re not good for horn use, at least maybe for usb.

Did you ever compare L18s800,/801 to LW 1400 in bass reflex box?

unfortunately I have no LW 1400...but L18S800 are good cabs for bass reflex.they have a light
cone so u can play high with them have a good kick too and dont need huge power amplification.
but im looking for horn bass speaker cause im sure everbody agrees that its a better choice for outdoor.

i know its not the topic but how would the rcfl18s800s make in an usb to play from 70hz and higher?

and to come back to the topic, i know a frequency plot shows the spl from a certain single frequenz
with a certain power level input.
but...
music are dynamic signals not just one frequenz at the same time.

i could imagine that a lab or 12pi sounds not so clear, fast, precious or whatever
in comparison to an fast 18inch horn sub.because of the LAB12 driver and the construction.

have somebody made experiences like this? can sb agree? or explain why my idea is rubbish?

@bitzo : i guess its parallel

parallel, here is parallel vs serie:

@airebll: 18 will not be faster than 12, but if you need fast kick bass don't take a long horn...
here is half usb with rcf S800 vs celestion in 0,5PI(so 2usb in 2PI):
