I have been using Loctite 4105, as a "black" super glue (ethyl cyanoacrylate); however, it is hideously expensive. Mostly for dustcap, or other "visible" joints, where the original was a black finish, or where the dust cap join is sort of flood filled.
Found this, and wondered if anyone had used it? Looks to be very similar spec to 4105? But 1/10 of the price!!

I use RTV black high temp sealant, £4.99/75ml. Not super cheap but strong and can be cut again in future. I use two glues, a fast dry one to test then this after to fill in gaps (takes a while to go off). Make sure it's kept air tight or will cure Edited by Steve20131 - 23 September 2025 at 10:47pm |
