Achat 112 SUB - Which amp / advices

The passive crossover went quite a bit higher than 150hz, I overlap the sub and tops on my setup, running the subs out at a shade over 200hz, but my tops are only a 6.5” and 1” horn, so I benefit from a slightly higher crossover point. If running the slightly bigger Shermann R8m’s I drop the crossover to 170hz. Adding the other cores to the speakons was the first mod, the second adding an active / passive switch to take the crossover out of action on the subs was the second. Incredible output for the size and weight. A friend also has a pair, which he runs with a set of void mycro 8’s. They were happy on the E-1500, but no significant benefit to driving them with the bigger amp. If you want more output add more cabinets.

I usually drive my 18" with Crest 8001's - or a 9200, but have had to use a smaller amp a couple of times, like a Yamaha P7000 & the difference was marginal, altho' the 9200 definitely has more headroom.
