Good dance overall a brilliant ending to the year,
Both sounds sounded on top form, Iration using the Fane 'Turbo max' and Void infi8 v2 amps. Could hear the difference in bass tones from the 1850 and the turbo max. Turbo max sounding the best much more rounder bass than the rugged 1850s. Both sounds playing with four scoops. Things turned quite hectic when mark accidentally turned on his set while Jah Voice was playing and was then lynched verbally by Ras Tread who reminded us all of how many years he had been on the seen etc etc.. then as things progressed there was comical exchanged of words by both guys which resulted in Ras Tread dissing SuB Dub promotions in Leeds of which Mark is Proprietor of. Mark suggested 'one for one from now on' and then continued playing dub plate selection of Horace Andy and counteracting what Ras Tread was saying. Making it clear that he was not dissing Jah Voice but Ras Tread. Ras Tread continued with his big ego saying why 'Mark was a lone man in the soundsytem scene' and that true sound men have a team. Mark then retaliated by saying that great sounds like 'Shaka' Aba' are lone operators and what was the problem. Ras Tread then told the crowd that Mark had to upgrade his sound to play against Jah Voice and something about moving a flightcase around, of which Mark said that how did he know when he wasn't present at the dance making Ras Tread look stupid again. What is the problem with the man Ras Tread?...is he always looking for a fight or what?. I don't wish to be biased but enough is enough... who invented wireless microphones should be shot....lol Good selection overall Iration playing a dubplate utilizing Bunny Wailers 'rise and shine' bassline A Jr Delgado ' fort augustus dubplate, - Mighty Massa dub, and a Aswad rework of an instumental - ending the dance with Makaya & Ras Kuntus dubplate. Thanks for the report pisshead!
Totally agree with you about the radio mic comment, I'm sure it could work, but from having a lot of respect for Tread, he's done a good job of putting me right off. He cant talk of wisdom and respect anymore, from what i hear he played up to the crowd, creating quite an unpleasant atmos/lions den. Not dissimilar from how he was with MaKaya. Heard Jah Voice played some dubs, interested to hear where they were from. Look forward to hearing a copy of the session as music sounds on top from both sounds, and some not often heard specials from mark. Good to hear sounds standing up for themselves, amongst talk of promoters and their agendas. |

Thanks for the reply,
I think Jah Voice can do justice to themselves now by getting rid off Tread. I think the Herbs might have got to him . As he says..'' Jah Voice the people choice'' .....well he's not my choice if fact a de-motion to a box boy might be suffice. This leading me to thought of has there ever been a soundsystem having a female mic/singer controller?... I do believe that Jah Voice played a King Earthquake dub and one from their engineer and legend ' Wooligan' (Mind Insurgent promotions) I think that's how you spell it. I also belive that Jah Voices management is less inclined to play their own engineer 'Wooligan' productions. The scandal get's deeper......... Edited by PISSHEAD - 30 December 2007 at 6:55pm |

I know Jah Voice have a pile of tune but I think they were holding back during the 1 for 1 section. One day, I might hear two sounds go head for head and actually play their best tunes

He he!!!!!!!!!
You said it first mskeete!!!!!!!! I've no doubt that each sound held back most tunes. But we are a minority who know they have so much more. But it seems like the days of playing tunes like that have long gone. I have given up hope of hearing many of those tunes, at least one after another after another! I'd say about seven plus yrs. Its disappointing, but as i've mentioned before, i quite complaining and built a studio and am finishing a sound to try and push more music, and not hold back anything, and tune wise i'm not talking lightweight bussiness. Enough sounds are coming in new and they won't be in a position to hold back either. People should be positive for the new sounds out there as well as enjoying the biggest of the day. They've all worked it to where they are. |

P Head and King Simeon, do you overstand what is geooww !!?
That is what Ras Tread was doing and thats what he does, it is you guys who should not come to the next one, because it is not you flavour.
That was the fullest I have seen that hall, why? because thats what InI wanted.
That has been missing a long time from dances, no arms house just geooww, like back in the day, when dance done man and man hold a drink, laugh and joke.
So please dont come on the internet and try dis people without overstanding. Mark and Ras Tread, give thanks to you for giving InI Queen nuff enjoyment, and especially Ones and Ones who turn out in full effect.
So P Head and King Simeon, please dont come to the next Iration/Jah Voice in Walsall, I will ask Judah to set up 2 free passes for the next University of Dub for you instead.
ps. mskeete...tune: Brooklyn Ghetto Rock (Keety Roots/Black Legacy Dubplate)

Yes mskeete, 2008 at some point... its sounded better than some of the tunes we heard that night. I asked Johno and Mark to keep that session in the same place every 2 months, we would definately travel, would not business who or what session was taking place.
Jah Voice took it in the earlys, with Ras Tread baiting Mark, but them switched rolls with Jah Voice playing instrumentals and Iration drawing some HEAVY vocal scorchers towards the end, Raspect Mark.
Mskeete, was that REALLY a Muffet tune as Mark said? Bwwoy.
I will not mention my lack of knowledge of anothers cultural expression, therefore not being able to comment on it, but inform. After consulting with higher authority, I can inform you that geooww is what called "P" taking! not to be confused with "P" Head. LLOL
It was something that is still part of Sound System culture, but has been replaced by the dub version in the "Roots and Culture" circuit.
No disrespect, but "each one teach one" (as Ras Tread said).
