Well Rog on those plans says the Eminence Kilomax can be used in the C-sub. Although generally Eminence Kilomax is pretty unsuitable for most boxes.

That driver will sound much better in a BP4 than a BP6A.

I Think They Would Work Very Well In The EV T18 Design With A Little Modification, Can Some One Share Their Technical Expertise, Another Thing Electro Voice Had Modified The T18 To The SB180.

A 4th order bandpass enclosure (BP4). Similar to the 'C' sub shown above, but with only one chamber ported. The 'C' sub is a BP6A, a BP6B has a port from one chamber to the other, and then one port to the outside. All three types are sensitive to the T/S parameters of the drivers, and no substitutes should be made without checking in a box modeling program. The Kilomax 18 does not model well in a BP6A. I did model Kilomax in 6th order BP(A) (iirc something like 120 ltr tuned to 45 Hz and 80 ltr to 75 Hz) it did look pretty impressive SPL-wise and powerhandling, just horrible groupdelay. My guess would be that it will sound much better if the second chamber is around 40 ltr tuned to 200 -300 Hz. Would behave like BP6/BR-hybride. Less SPL but much less groupdelay and less peaky aswell. Also less distortion from cone movement. Wkr Johan |

The group delay is simply a function of the frequency response. A simple sealed box with a low-pass filter of the same roll-off rate and same frequency has the same group delay. |
