Just to clarify... the Sovereign specs on FANE website are the OLD models not the new. As far as I know the new models (inc 18-1500) will be up sometime soon after Frankfurt.

Is the XB 1500 manufactured in China as well ? Will recone kits be kept in stock in UK, or have to be ordered from China, with waiting time? |

FANE own the factory in China and its been set up by themselves so I am confident the quality will be 2nd to none. The only China manufactured models are Sovereign, Sovereign Pro, and some Colossus 15XB and 18XB.
The Colossus 15XB and 18XB can and WILL ALSO be made in the UK. They have assured me China and UK models will be equivilent (within tolerances), I have spoken to them about this and tests on the Chinese made 15XB/18XBs that arrived last week match the UK models. Recone kits for 15XB/18XB can also be made in the UK, as well as 4 ohm versions of the driver.
All other models are UK manufacture only, same as PD.
Also worth mentioning that they have changed the published power rating for 15XB and 18XB from 600w AES to 800w EIA. This is purely for comparison to similar priced drivers such as Eminence Omega Pro, actual power handling is exactly the same as its the same model....

Hi CHAMPION, I work for Blue Aran, we deal with FANE and PD a lot and I speak to them daily... All the information I have comes from them and I assure you is not speculation. I had not really wanted to say who I work for since speakerplans forum is non-commercial but I guess you don't know who I am or where I get my info so fair enough.
My intention is just to pass on what info I have...I just think it makes sense to get the specs out there rather than me sit on it. By the way anyone that I post a brochure too won't get any other communication from the company (I can ensure no address records are kept if requested). Theres another topic about FANE new stuff here: http://www.speakerplans.com/forum/new-span-classhighlightfane-span-drivers_topic25301_post252778.html
Anyway...... FANE Colossus 18-1000 and 18-1500 - keen to hear if anyone else has tried em/got any....

Turbomax 1000 sounds almost same as PD1850 in Shortman mini... What were you saying about quality ? ![]() I would prefer the original, than a poor copy. EDIT:I know of at least 1x sound system running with Tmax 1000s, and say sub is fat & nice.. Dont know of any using Fane 1000. ![]() Edited by levyte357 - 02 April 2009 at 5:03pm |

you wer suggesting to go for the turbo 100 into a B&C sub 18 cab,.........how well does the turbo sound in there, or PD 1850.
All well being in a scoop....how do the Turbo 1000 1200 1500 sound in reflex cabs. What the quality like?
