Just about to start with the cutting on my companies Laser Cutter all the parts to make two MT121 Cabs loaded with P-Audio SN12B and Beyma cp750Nd's/TD460n horns
Plans drawn up with my idea on the MF Horizontal Flare ![]() Will post some photo's up as the parts get cut, also have a custom grill panels coming from our Finn Power Turret Punch where I work, 2500 hits with a dia 8.2mm punch done in around 8mins Open to discussion on the curved section for the flare. I intend to form and laminate 3 layers of 4mm ply over some formers, idea derived from the speakerplans readers project HD15 curve lamination photos. Wish me luck! These will be going above Lab subs and Usb's Edited by Sequence Empire:::.. - 31 March 2009 at 10:51pm |

Top & bottom panels pre-drilled last night, 12mm ply plant ons glued in place, SN-12B's on their way to my door...
Jig to form the horizontal dispersion parts of the mid freq flare constructed, see how the Lamination goes... Cheers to all for the positive words first build of this scale, happy I've invested in quality ply & cnc router cutting this far |

Try a sheet-metal engineering shop in your local area if you want a custom design. Someone proficient with AutoCAD can draw up the profile for you, my grills were manufactured on a Turret Punch where I work. If you find a company with a Turret Punch & do a little research as to what tooling is available there, as working with what they have available will see the initial design go through to produce a really good end result. The holes in my design are 8.2mm dia, on 12mm circular pitch centre. Edited by Sequence Empire:::.. - 01 May 2009 at 1:44am |
