is someone able to give a run down of the different db mark models?

i think it's time to upgrade my ultradrive, but not sure which to get.

other than the inputs / outputs, i'm not sure what the difference between the XCA and DP series, though i'm sure either will be a decent upgrade on the berry!

I recently upgraded from an ultra drive to a 2 in 6 out xca. Not used it a shed load yet, but first impressions are:

- Better sound quality
- Intuitive and easy to use program on PC, I also found it alot easier to connect to.
- Display on unit isn't quite as easy to navigate and use as the ultra drive. Easy enough mind, and I mostly use my pc anyway
- I like the mute buttons assigned to each channel.

Thumbs up over all....

XCAs seems to be well built, decent sound quality with some good A/D D/A chips and opamps.  It has a traditional linear power supply .

Not long after posting on this subject my DB Mark XCA has started playing up. One channel seems slightly lower in volume than the other. I've narrowed it down to the input section . Swapping back to a JBL DSC260 both inputs are dead on equal. So definitely the XCA.

you reckon that's a settings thing or there's an actual problem with the unit?

The easiest way to test that is to perform a factory reset or firmware flash on the device.

You can also verify the output difference by simply connecting a volt meter to the output channels.

Update on this.  I fixed it.  The issue was a dry joint, high resistance joint to the input op-amp.  Everything else was fine on the board.  Not sure why it happened.

These active crossovers are built well, solid construction and decent chips. It's unusual that it has a linear power supply (transformer, full bridge rectifier and voltage regulators)  The only slight concern would be the cheap capacitors but that is the same to alot of modern products these days.

well, i got a DP28+

my initial thoughts: i
interface isn't as bad as i remembered
behringer is still better (mainly due to the screen)
dear god that screen is BRIGHT (can it be turned down?)
decent features
i like the AGC on inputs, i was going to get a AVC (formula sound) but will so how i go with this
yet to comment on sound as i have yet to make some sound with it
no spaces or special characters when saving presets. weird

no manual, can't find one online anywhere.
it's pretty self explanatory, but i love reading manuals... anyone seen one?

I know it's a bit late but I found this if you're still interested https://dbmark.co.uk/content/downloads/DP+manual.pdf

(I was searching for advice and info on alternatives or options relating to the classic AVC limiter and this thread popped up in search.)

They're complaining over there, but it's their fault!
