Just had confirmation from the guys at Void and we are now taking advanced orders on these crazy drivers.  Be one of the first to have one of the best 18" drivers ever made!!  (I have one here, I know!!)  :-)

Just out of interest, any idea how these would sound in place of the Viper Sub driver?

Don't you like the Viper Sub then Jamie.

I've had 8 running at once in a row along the floor and it was getting on for unbearable. It was hard to breath and was mashing up my insides.

V18-1200 was not designed for a small reflex like the Viper Sub. Stick it in 250 litres of cab and watch ya wallpaper fall off.

Yes, they are nice as they are, but the tops are just so loud and efficient, would be nice to have just a touch more on the bass end.

Regards,

Jamie

Ummmmm,

2 perphaps.

Know what you mean, but the laws dictate that you can only get so much from a small reflex cabinet. I'm doing some half versions of the Stasys 8 with a neo driver soon. Might be able to give you a bit more ummph.

Sounds good. Have thought about another pair of the Viper subs, would make a fantastic little rig then (although it already is!), not sure how much more power I will get if run from the same amp, each driver getting around 500w rather than 700w ish. I suppose it's all about air movement, not just power.

Hello there Jethro, how about recone kits for these beasts ? Will/Are they available too ?

I remember the palava on PAP deciding on which kit to send out for repairs (A-Kits or B-Kits) for the v18-1000's depending on when you bought the driver.

Hope so too. The amount of blown PD1850's & V18-1000's I've come across, I've often wondered!!!

The only guys I though I'd see blowing up any drivers, are the systems that play at the roots reggae dances. You ned to stand up in front of the stacks if you have no idea what I mean. You'd see the speaker being beaten up & spanked (not literally) with no mercy.

@Tek.. Do you reckon thats got something to do with them being in scoop bins? My V18-1000s have had a right royal spanking in the Looneys, and we do big Reggae dances along with all the DnB and Dubstep, week in week out for the last 18 months and they've never missed a single beat!

To do a dull thing with style - now that's an art.

I don't know Gramps, I only ever hear looneys a few times a year but hear scoops all the time. You maybe right.
Every time I want to hear your Looneys something else comes up, that's why I'm waiting for the next big session down Brighton so I can hear if they really are getting spanked like when I hear them in Carnival.
