DYNACORD SUB800A upgrade?

   This sub came to my hands recently. It's woofer is the Electro-Voice DL15Y. One of the two cone wires was cut off the cone. fortunately i managed to solder it in place, put glue on both wires, so the woofer was saved and works fine. Is there a drop-in replacement to upgrade this sub? I repeat, it works very good, but it has rather low x-max and thin paper cone. I haven't test it hard yet. Another question that i have is, if this woofer is for sub duty only, or was it used for midbass duties in 2-way dynacord/electrovoice speakers? Thanks in advance.....
