By the looks of it the controller only controls 3 dmx channels, ch 1 would translate to red, ch 2 green and ch 3 blue. The controller can't put ch 7 (relating to master dimmer) at full so no light will come out of the units. The controller is only designed for 3 ch led units

... but they are packaged with may different PARs of different makes... im guessing there no control on ch7 its just perminantly on full. as iv looked it up and found it in packages with echo's and they are 7ch DMX PARs.

i just went with logic and would guess'd. im normally pretty good at guessing

They are probably packaged with PARs that can run 3ch RGB mode. I would expect the Echo's can run 'up to' 7 channels of DMX, but also support RGB mode.
Otherwise, every package they sold would likely be returned, and retailers don't make that sort of mistake for long.

You can assume that if there is no channel 7 on the controller then its value will be zero.

P.S. thats quite unusual to find an LED can that won't work in 'lowest common denominator' mode. Even the manual for my Stairville cans covers PAR18, 56 and 64 variants, in 5mm, 10mm and 1W and 3W configs. Not sure why they would deviate from the same controller board if it's a) still in use in other products and b) works. [shrug]

see what i mean, its not the same controller but it still is a basic 3ch controller none-the-less.

i think its more a misunderstanding on how the controller works... hence the reason for saying plug one PAR in set it to address 0001 and hit auto on the controller and see what happens(with all faders up)

Annoying isn't it. For the record it's a great little controller for simple stuff. Set all the cans to the same address, link them up and jobs a good'un for uplighting etc.

I won't take the credit for this one as it was provided on Blue room today, but apparently Thomann provide the manual (usually English) on the German language page. So if you change the GB to DE in the addresses bar and scroll down there should be a link to the manual.
