Orange: Worse I've come accross yet.
Cutomer with dial up download speeds, router showing 7230 (right next to exchange).
BT Speedtester showed a profile of 127ish and download of 90.
Very nice Tech lady went away, then came back, this time forgot to put on hold. I could hear everything. It was like a Gordon Ramsay kitchen (Asian style), people shouting, screaming at each other. She was trying to state the case but was being told no. I THINK she may have been told to get me off the phone. FInally I was told no profile had ever been set for the line and that in five days they might have this and that MIGHT mean they could improve the speed! They were not willing to phone and confirm either. Basically go away.
Customer gets BB free with her mobile, at least she thought she did, mobile a touch expensive I pointed out.
Unprofessional, uttererly useless pile of doggy poo.
MAC code requested.
It just is.

No, a PAC is for porting a mobile number, a MAC is for migrating a DSL service.

As for the situation, the fact you can run the BT tester suggests you're not on Orange LLU therefore it's an issue with BT RAMBO not pushing the profile out to the BRAS. A ten minute job to fix.
