Hi people, i've got a pair of courts designed 18 inch w-bins, and a pair of OHM RW3(with 400w drivers).
I'm looking into buying/getting built another 2 bass bins of some kind, i'm not really too sure what to go for though! My current choices have been either 2 PD1850s, 2 Punishers or maybe 2 LabHorns. Would you recomend any of these, or recomend anything else that would compliment what i have already!? Many thanks, P-Trix! |

I recommend that as early as possible you decide on 1 design of bass bin and make lots of them. Mixing bass bins that are playing the same frequency range just leads to headaches. |

I'm with Dom. Can you get enough measurements off the W-bins to
copy them? That might be the way to go if you like the sound of the
ones you have.

I think what the guys mean is not building different cabs that run the same frequency range. The cabs you suggest; Labs, punishers and 1850s, will all cover same frequencies as your current bins and you'll just end up with funny combing and phase problems trying to line everything up. If your wanting to go 4 way then you have to look at using a kick bin. Use your current subs for very low bass, and then cross over to a kick bin of some sort (HD15 or Bark etc) to do upper bass, then to your mids and then tops. kev Edited by kevinmcdonough - 16 November 2005 at 9:02pm |
