I've just ordered the Q10 as a general purpose backup/monitor amp. It sounds decent. Trialled it on a couple of 18" subs and PS15s and gave it some welly and had absolutely no complaints. That was running off a dbmark HDX.

I have gone whole hog on these amps…

I had a B8 for a few years, which is 2 of the Q10 modules, and 2 of the smaller ones in a single case… used it to run a pair of double 18 cabs designed and built by our very own Ceharden, and a pair of ASS SP5s.

Worked like a charm, never felt like it ran out of headroom even on the bottom end playing D&B or dub - didn’t realise I was only ever flickering the top signal light, not the clip light - and and that point they were always delivering - didn’t ever need to push it harder.

Never let me down doing the few parties I did with it (I’m not a pro or in the hire business - just hobby/party use).

Recently I find myself owning 4 W8C, 4 W3P and (yes it’s way too many for the tops), 12 WS218X… could probably do with at least another pair of W8C to balance things out.

These amps made sense considering my use case.. so now have the original B8, and 4 of the Q10s.

I couldn’t justify (again, hobby/fun use) investing more - for equivalent power it would be several times the investment.

They sound good to me, good noise floor, put out the required power (ok, the ws218X could probably take more than the 2200w they put out at 4ohm, but after power compression, would it make that much difference - taking into account my misbalance of bass vs tops anyway).

Are they the last word in amplification, obviously not… do they represent excellent value for money, absolutely.

And Blue Aran’s customer service is also very reassuring - great people to deal with.
