Hi all !! i was thinking about building a pair of X10/X12 , their purpose will be to give me some some mid-high frequency i'm currently lacking in my barbecue - little free party sound system :D
currently i have a pair of scoop bin as subwoofer, a pair of horn-loaded mid-low unit , and we use monitor loudspeakers as high frequency unit ![]() ![]() ![]() i was thinking on this projects becuase when i will not need to much power, i will bring only these 2 x10 (or with a sub) , instead of going around with very big horn loaded loudspeaker in my little car :D now my main question are: 1) is that really bad using a passive crossover ? i would like not to be bloated to carry around an external active crossover and to bring 2 amp (1 for mid-low, 1 for hf) wouldn't this fit ? KFPR 020 400 Watt max | 8 V | 2 vie | 3,5 kHz Impedance 4 + 8 V RMS 200 W MAX 400 W X-over 3,5 kHz Pad12 d the only problem (if i understood correctly) would be the x-over point which is too high .. 2) are there any other design would you reccomend me ? the main characteristcs i need would be : internal x-over, mid-high unit and portability thanks in advance!!

oh i was forgotting, i'm thinking about ciare / monacor components because a friend of mine is a releseller so i can get good prices, as long as i try to find speaker with similar small thiele parameters and power consumption of the one in the original design, they should fit well, right ?
