Void v18 1000- CHINA????

I know this post is obviously decades late, but the V18 1000 is definitely made in China, at least nowadays. I just ordered one from Blu Aran and they said they're waiting for another batch to come in from China, and that it's one of Void's chinese-made drivers. It's still apparently a very sick driver though, so I'm happy so long as it kills it in my X1s!

I commented on that decades old thread, and remember it clearly.

There are 3x types of products that come out of China:

  1. Cheap copies of top line products, that are inferior in materials, construction,
  2. Products made for Western Companies, that are implemented with substandard materials, some QC, and to a limited cost
  3. Products made for Western companies, with substantial QC, testing, with better grade components, where savings will e made on labor, not quality.

History would suggest Void V18-1000, Void Infinite 8 MK2, are of the latter.

Void V18-1000 is the most sensitive 18" driver I've owned.

The Void Infinite 8MK2 amplifier, is the strongest/most efficient transformer amp, I've ever used, @ 4 ohm, easily surpassing Crown MA5000VZ, Crest 9001.

EDIT:In regards to the X1 cab, I would have suggested, the PD1850 or  PD 1851.
But then again, years ago, the Void was fantastic in so many cabs.

My friend bought 8 Celestion drivers 18" and not a problem with them. After many years. Not everything from China is cr@p.

I'm in my 19th year now of having voids in x1s and always been happy with them.

I always wanted to try Voids in Martin WSX copies, but the "sub being thrown into car park" ploy, always prevented me !!
