Hmmm I cannot get those parts not where I live. Buying those things online would be a real pain not to mention a major shipping headache.
Plus I'm going through too many comp drivers, six so far. Does anyone have an off-the-shelf/ online version to the PAP VX1 or 2. There must be a compatible crossover unit I can get online.... HEEEEELLP!!!! |

Thanks angus, that is very much going to come in handy,
and thanks to everyone whos thrown something in :) i have found so much info on this site... http://www.termpro.com/articles/xover2.html It's given me the basics i needed as an understanding of how everything worked together and why, i'm figuring things out as much as possible, and having the site explain all the functions and even give a GRAPH of all the components you need and the ratings and crossover points. (and who is clever enough to find the pic of the old man in the purple pimped out truck with the bass speakers )I am now embarrassing myself as i have forgotten the name of something i was going to say i have been looking at to buy and test make a crossover. "cheese boards" ??? Those electronic boards to test circuits and components before final placement on a PCB. either way, i thought this might be good for testing and such...anyone else used them for this purpose? The L-pads kind of still confuse me... but I'm trying to wrap my head around it... I'm trying to understand the meaning of "attenuate the signal", i know this happens the more components you use, "linked to it's order" i thought the slope caused it to rise such... 6db - 12db - 18db slopes so confussuled as to where the 9db came from, or is that the meaning of the l-pad... we're trying to lower the slope ??? i'm close... i'm sure lol... Cheers guys, thaks again |

Bread boards? they're generally pretty low power handling in my very limited experience of them though...
