No, Not compared to the 2242H's (in the same cabs). Same amps, same test, 2242's = tighter, louder and just better! I have been working with those SRX's for the past 2.5jears. Those bass bins are sh*t, except if you want to create a 40Hz standing wave in the venue....

Some proof:
Look at the pic below. If you understand what that is saying you will see that the 2242 is so much better. Yes, The 2268H has more Xmax[according to JBL] but its as deaf as a post. Low No., Low Sensitivity and f**king slow. You waste money to get output out of the ting, what were they thinking when they made those things? Music don't just contain notes below 50Hz! ![]() |

An update on the weekley abuse that these cabs are still enduring. They still sound better than the OEM cab and we cant get them to die either. The boxes needs painting again because the guys prefer taking the home buit boxes out....
Even had the local distributors listening to them in an A/B with the OEM's, and they shat themselves when they heard the backyard built cabs. They couldn't believe how sh*tty the OEM boxes sound compared. f**k THE NEW JBL KIT OLDSCHOOL IS STILL COOL! |

Please, can you give me bass reflex dimension,I also have two of them on shelf so it would be easy to
make srx clone.Since it is simple bass reflex box I assume that box dimension from their site is ok to start with... Thank You Martin Gajta |

About JBL SRX 718 and 728
The technology of these cabinets is fabulous, research and knowledge of JBL (more than 60 years) is up to date. Sound is simply perfect, punchy, and incredible of precision. It would be too much easy to buy wood and building the same, NO, you laugh. It's not simply wood and ability because JBL would stoped its factory ! It's so much more ! Have great succes JBL pro. the world leading factory |

Organeux, you're already a true pain in the ass on pro audio french forums. We're already not loved by the Brits, no need to throw oil on fire

I don't know if this is helpful for this discussion, but I'm currently comparing the spec sheets for the JBL SRX718S and the JBL ASB6118 (an installation model) which uses the 2242H driver. On the back side of the spec sheets the frequency response graph looks somewhat better for the ASB6118 (2242H) than for the SRX718S (2268H) with a fairly flat response extending to a -3dB point of 35Hz compared to 40Hz. I came across this forum as I am trying to decide between these two subwoofers for use in a House of Worship. The ASB6118 retails for $250 more than the SRX718S, but that may be simply due to a smaller market for the installation products. Here are the two spec sheets:
ASB6618, with 2242H driver: http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/support/getfile.aspx?doctype=3&docid=672
SRX718S, with 2268H driver: http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/support/getfile.aspx?docid=823&doctype=3
