The ribbon cable is easily swapped from module to module, so if you have spare ch1, you could just swap the cable from the broken one and it'll no issues

Have you started buying to to LA12X yet Joe?

i have 3 la4x, and waiting on some better prices for 12x .. i don't really have any need for 12x at the minute other than the la8s becoming old..

i only found out that the la4x and 12x are powersoft last week, after replacing an encoder

Beware of fake la4x, the chinese make amplifiers that can work with the original la-network software

Hello Voron, I don't suppose you would know why an LA8 has 4V on the 5V rail and no +15V/-15V ? Just received one for repair and customer said it worked for a while when power cycling a few times which sounds like a capacitor(s) problem but so far can't find any that look iffy.

Are you missing +-15V on just one output module or all of them? If it's just one, check the zener diodes on these power rails and the small chokes nearby. If there's no +-15V on all channels, check the main power supply.

Thanks a bunch for reacting, much appreciated! It turns out the psu was working just fine when tested outside the unit. I have meanwhile traced the fault to the dsp board (the one connected to the front display). When popping another in from a different LA8 the machine starts up as it should.
Now that I have that one out I can see there have been made repairs on it already. Weird that it would mess up the power supply that much, but at least I am making progress here.

If the Actel FPGA on the DSP board is faulty, it will not be possible to perform repairs at the component level and the entire DSP board will need to be replaced.

Yeah I think I found the culprit.
Can't post a picture of it but a capacitor next to Y2 (C63) seems burnt out.

Yes. I can repair both power supplies and output amplifier modules. The main problem is that I'm located in Russia, and there are difficulties with both shipping the equipment and paying for my work.
