Hey swesound, have you measured the upside down BR cab yet?
Interested in seeing how it compares to the original simulation considering
1) port could be longer in reality than simmed due to extention by side walls in the cabs.
2) And also if the cavity between driver and floor could create a resonance chamber acting as a bandpass.
would be interesting to see! but very nicely done
Btw, what will be the crossover frequency?

Best regards,
Teun. |

Interesting! I had not thought about any of those... I'm pretty good at coming up with an idea and just build and try!I had a go with learning some more about hifi and read about some subs fire down at the floor. They stood on 4 legs/small blocks...and they said that this config are very room friendly, and I can agree now. And this was the optimal way for my compound config. The spiky pattern was only a cool thing, I thought. But it is as you said, it became a small chamber of some kind.... And no I have not done any plots in reality yet, still waiting for my mic... I cross it at 90hz now, any higher and everything starts to dance in here! Soon, after I have come over the chock with the car, I will start to build in a half Peavey CS-800. One channel only worked so I will take the other one and mount the flair so you can see it on the front...I think... You will have to wait and see! Swe |
