Both 250 halogen watt and moon flower types. YouTube it mate. Maybe comes down to optics and colour. Always used them in master and slave mode.

I have a load of destroyers, dirt cheap, bright enough, cheap to fix if they go wrong (just buy a load of them and put a couple aside for spare parts) oh and the lamps are not too expensive either.
the only thing that can't really be fixed is the stepper motors, sometimes you can give the end bell a wiggle around and they come back to life, but most of the time you need to replace them. The punisher is the same as the destroyer, but it has a 'shake' effect. never used one myself. Edited by lgosdset - 28 February 2013 at 6:21pm |

No idea what the going rate is for them, but I have 6 Destroyers, all in very good cosmetic condition.
I may be prepared to let a couple go, how soon would you want them? (I've done my books for this year and could do with not taking any more money before 5th April to keep the tax bill down!) They did Destroyers/Punishers in 2 versions, one with an ELC lamp and one with a fixed reflector and the cheaper M33 capsule lamp. They did a conversion kit at one point. Mine are all M33 versions due to the cheaper lamp costs (and same as the Solar 250 so easier lamp stock to manage) Both Punishers and Destroyers need the lamp relay replacing periodically, it either welds itself closed or open (e.g. lamp always on or doesn't switch on and no click heard when powered up) They're dirt cheap and easy to replace if you can hold a soldering iron without burning your fingers ![]() Destroyers are 5 channel (although I've seen ones which like to have 6 channels when patched) and can run in 1 channel, 5 channel or sound to light mode. Punishers are 6 channel and will run in 1 channel, 6 channel and auto mode (no sound to light!) despite them being based on essentially the same control board. That said, I did have a Punisher that ran sound to light! So there are hacks and bodges and different official versions out there! |

can you not scan an old board and have them knocked up at 10 a penny and then just buy all componants from ebay or the like and make your own boards?
surely the pic/eeprom can be copied and then uploaded to new chips. save your self a packet and keep your lights alive. £175 a board?... surley you could make 4-5 of your own for that price and then 8-10 more for another 175.

i never looked into it, the problem is when one part on the board gives up, its like a chain reaction, and you just kepp chasing the faults all over the board.....
The ego replaced the destroyer, and this was replaced by the current range.....
