From previous thread;

Im trying to design my own *hybrid b-line mini scoopWink* box to load with a V18-1200, just needed some advice and opinions on;

a) what depth/length piece of wood A should be?

b) what angle/length piece of wood B should be?

If its any good will be building a pair of them, can i also mention that im not using any programing software so please keep your comments not to technical

Thanks in advance Tongue

What do you want from it? high bass? low bass?
or a bit of both?

Looking at the drawing the length of he horn is to much for the mouth size
you could get away with a 1.5 mtr horn length i reckon, what length is that 1.8/9?

doesnt have to be that size just thought it would be convenient carrying/storage n what not!

How much difference will it make if the mouth size is bigger/smaller?

Im guessing a tighter throat would be better for punchy bass and a larger throat be better for deep??? Confused

You'll need a bigger box.

Erm, well that box looks like a BigVentReflex to me rather than a horn really. So the opposite rule of thumb will apply, the larger the cross section of the port for a given length the higher the tuning will go.

So small port = deep tuning, large port = high tuning. If you want it really chunky it has to be loads longer to compensate.

yes hes right look at the expansion rate of that horn.... more like a port than a horn....
actualy as an aside where the bottom bend is youve actualy got negative expansion, will this area not also act as an extra rear chamber? so a sort of direct radiating bandpass.....
insert silly sentence here
