Yeah its not easy business to be in. But the cost of everything has gone up it seems most business's are feeling the strain. I'll be getting utimate to build me some mid highs soon though. Luckily dont have to worry about getting cabs built for my 2150s yet as ive got 18" minis also. When i cross that bridge it wont be pretty

No SteveB around, to build moderately priced cabs.
May cost me over £3200, to get 4x cabs built, and then no guarantee of sales as a result.
Tough decision.

Was told quite a while bk he stopped building. Lev what about having them built in a cheaper ply? Had 1 of my shutter ply stevebs a/b with a top builders birch ply 50/52 scoop which was also braced alot more throughout the cab and mouth and the steveb still done the job let alone if it was braced the same as the bitch ply cab. Id buy non birch cabs still. Or maybe just use birch for the driver baffle as 2150 weighs a ton

Would it be amiss of me to suggest that 24mm ply would problably be preferable? Tony Rossell (TonyASS) used 24mm in his 21 inch scoops and with the amount of low frequency energy one of these beasts would be capable of lots of additional bracing would seem to be the order of the day. So, several hundred pounds in weight, several hundred pounds in price and the money for a back brace and surgical support - seems about right for Disco Dave!

For sidefills, can we have two enormous things of a type that might be venerated as Gods by the inhabitants of Easter Island, capable of reaching volumes that would make Beelzebub soil his pants.

CNC'd, well braced, & professionally assembled cab, will be fine in 18mm birch ply.
No need for 24mm at all, that is just unecessary over kill.
Cabs designed and built, with no compromise, fitted with top class optimal drivers, and powered with top class amplifiers, with plenty of headroom, is proven route to success.

Mainly a thick baffle can be usefull, but by glueing 2x18 together you are even much stiffer than 24mm plate.

People who have moved my 18" Scoops around have told me, my Scoops unloaded, were heavier than many Scoops loaded !!
That tells me, many builders in the past, skimped on sufficient bracing, to save material cost and increase profit, at the cost of performance/build quality.
Thereby resulting in many thinking 24mm is mandatory, for heavy drivers, whereas just 24mm driver baffle, with optimal doubled up bracing where needed, is more than enough.
