People who have moved my 18" Scoops around have told me, my Scoops unloaded, were heavier than many Scoops loaded !!

That tells me, many builders in the past, skimped on sufficient bracing, to save material cost and increase profit, at the cost of performance/build quality.

Thereby resulting in many thinking 24mm is mandatory, for heavy drivers, whereas just 24mm driver baffle, with optimal doubled up bracing where needed, is more than enough.

Horses for courses..
Paraflexes are great for their own reasons, and are definitely loud and punchy, however don't seem to (in my opinion) share the warmth and depth of a scoop.

(Before anyone goes nuts, our soundystem has paraflex subs, not scoops)

This is interesting.

Think it deserves it's own thread.

The magnitude plots for both types of cab at the same physical volume tell you all you need to know on that front.

This is not a Paraflex vs Scoop thread.

So the subject tells me all I need to know, on that front.
