I believe the 12" Black Widow had similar enough TS specs to match the SN12MB, since they're so cheap in the USA it'd be worth looking in to

^ not really imo.. you want a proper mid driver in such cabs like b&c pe32 for example..

FAQ in the main site has a good bit about drivers for midrange horns. And the mt12 horn was designed originally for the pd123er, so that's a starting point for choosing drivers for it.

I was looking at the Beyma 12p80nd for my cabs. They have an additional 6" horn between the 12 and a 1 which I crossover at 500hz. I've realised that this Beyma driver would be pretty wasted in this application so I'm wondering what a good driver for an MT121 12 horn would be if I'm only running that horn 160 - 500 hz. I'm after high efficiency and power handling - don't mind spending a bit of money on them.
Cheers Edit: B&C 12FW76 looks good: 100db sensitivity and still high in my pass band, 500w, BL 26 JUST about fits in the chamber.

Hello! Me and my workmate just built a pair MT121 (original two section mid horn, not TDA's) now we are looking for suited loudspeakers to fit in. I've already got 2 brand new beyma 12MI100 i would definitely like to try for the mids.. anyone has heard them in this kind of cabs?
For the high band i was looking for a horn with low cutoff, since i read from other forum members this horn design has to be crossed below 1khz. I saw the beyma TD-365 horn (800hz cutoff) and the CD-1114F1E that look fine on paper but never heard them. What do you think about it? Any advice welcome! Cheers ![]() |
