I was thinking of having a bid on these just for the horns, I'm having a living room renovation which includes DIY of a brand new 5.1 HiFi system and these could be nice for the top end of the front cabs with a bit of restoration.
Would I be stepping on anyone else toes if I bid? Seems little point in driving another forum members price up. |

Well I have my eyes on them to complete the top end of my ASS concert stacks. It has been easier to find the JBL Ali horns rather than the original ASS fibreglass. Now I do have four almost identical fibre glass horns with one inch screw on throats. They are ok but really need a couple of hours TLC but are free to a good home if thats any good to you. By the way, its bloody good of you to ask but much as i want these JBLs they are up for auction and try as I might I just can't see me as being any more entitled to them than you

Well I only fancied them as a curiosity and a future project, so I won't get in your way! I'll give you a shout when the house DIY is finished perhaps and I've moved onto what sort of system to build for it! Some big horns carefully restored might be a nice visual touch. I know a chap who's not too bad at automotive spraying that might be able to make them look pretty if I sorted the finish out.

Got my eyes on the other 2 sets,in the hope I win at least 1 pair, for my top end going to use them above my Mega cabs if I win them.
They will be running from 1.6 upwards. |

Yes sir they will. It is hard enough finding the bass and the lower mid cabs but finding the ASS fibre glass horns and the acoustic lens is just a stupid idea. So in my case I have turned to the JBL "originals" and now have the 2395 lenses, 2350 two inch radials and now two pairs of the 2345 one inch radials. Job done! Am also running a different project to Ian (JBL Man) as he is passionate about keeping vintage gear authentic and with drivers of the correct period where possible. In this case the whole lot will be fitted with modern drivers, either B&C or BMS depending on the cab and we should be able to blow anybody away with it Have been very lucky to have had a lot of help and advice from Ian, Tony ASS and several others on here, all cabs have been/will be refurbished by Tony himself. That's the first pair of stacks complete, now need to get cracking on the elements missing from the second pair. If only I could find another pair of the 212 lower mid cabs it would make my year!

Well done Lee,£100 a pair is about what they are worth, that's what i paid for my 2345's ten years ago, quite easy to restore, just gave them a good wire brush to remove the loose paint, and then used acrylic car aerosols to paint them.
