The reconed is an SD18EL.
It just died afther an extremly compressed musical signal.

Hmm really it looks more like an RCF. I guess im used to a different model or something i thought the magnet has some kind of cooling fins on it.
so then they must have modified the 1850. i believe rog said the sd 18 would work just wont fit.

it does fit but it's a tight fit. Duuno if this could be a problem but there is not much space between the magnet and the botom pannel of the sealed chamber

I have access to P audio SD 18 to be exact but not the sd 18el , i doubt the sd 18 will fit in the 1850.
And i have no way of getting PD speakers here either.

the two sd18el 1Kw rms each died after putting in 3 kw of music in the two of them. the clipmeters never backed down and then, from a berry dcx was giiven a gain of +12 db at 50 Hz. i saw the red lights turn bright on the dcx, and on the amplifier. this lasted about 10 minutes and then they died. this was a test to see how much the sd resists.

@mylesound

if you will trey the 18x400 from rcf in 1850 cabs, please put some reviews. i'm considering to buy two of the to use'em in bas reflex and in the future to use them in 1850.

p.s.

i'm one of the rare persons in the world to cut off a sd18el LOL

at 40 hz with a 18 db slope i think. it wasn't me at the buttons but when i saw the moment in wich 12 db were added al 50 hz, my heart froze Stern%20Smile . the sound was a bit muddy, hardlly noticeable but we were to excited to noticed that.

remember, it was just a test done by the main dealer of paudio in romania to see if the sd18el could keep up with that abuse. at 1,5 kw music per driver, passed in 2 compressors, i think the signal became in to a sine wave LOL . the horns were connected in paralel on a bridge amplifier and when the first driver faild at 1,5 Kw, on the second a quick impulse of 2 Kw ended him to.
Mircea Bartic could confirm this.

the test was really funny. but the burned sd18el is a real bad ass stincker. smells really nasty when burned, and i mean reaaaaaly ugly AngryThumbs%20Down
