Deffo going for scoops over reflex after much thought. Double 15 reflex on kick duty and can use it as bass for small events Thumbs Up

I thought that you would use those two sealed 2x12" for kicks and moreSmile

I am very satisfied on the sealed 12" I have playing above 18" reflex.

Im also getting used to the fat hifi sound of the reflex subs.

If you want weight go for reflex if you want loud go for scoops!

The sealed 12" are looking good still! Good luck with the project whatever you build!Thumbs Up

What's above your double 12? Straight to comps? I play a lot of deep house and garage so most of the weight and flow of the music is in the kick band. So a proper kick section is needed.

Edit: failed quoting

17KHz is not bad for a 300mm driver, might get a bit beamy up there though LOL

Yup, spec sheet shows a 26dB difference between on axis and 45o off at 10kHz. Not knocking App for using it in a first build, especially as I think it's only being used in small spaces, but it certainly won't cover anywhere big consistently.

I think he may have meant 1.7KHz. At least I hope he did. Otherwise F1 would probably be making cabs with 12s behind axe heads.

In the club where I play I manage to get good coverage of the space with the midtops. They are quite directional but its not strictly negative thing. The club has 2 different spaces and because the midtops are directional theres not sound spilling to the other space which has the bar.

This means that people can talk in the bar and listen to music in the main "hall". Instead of getting the sound allover the place. They can cover a decent area when setup the right way. They sound good too since they have no crossover and its all paper making the sound.

edit. Aka. they have good directional control LOL

nope, Fane 12 250 TC is a real full range driver with a novel whizzer cone design. It has been throughly discussed in this thread:

 But yes, it apparently beams.

Of course it does.

Off-axis it starts rolling above 1Khz or so.
