Hi all,

I just obtained a broken DB technologies amp, was told the power supply was defective...
Anyone ever repaired a HPA-2800?
Or someone can provide circuit diagrams?

Started by fixing the power supply board, the soft-start's NTC s and one 100n ceramic capacitor were blown, replaced these and no problems with amp boards disconnected. Connected the wiring to A and B channels, fuse trips at startup. So found out one channel is shorting.

B-channel's all five TTC5200 and TTA1943 are all shorted

Would you replace the transistors on the other channel as well? Geek

the pos. and neg. side's IXTP76N075T mosfets are shorted too (and one track burned off at the drain) and seem to be obsolete, but can be replaced
One dual rectifier diode from +MID rail is gone as well.

You're just wasteing your time with this sort of chinese craps,in order to do a proper repair you need to change: all drivers (even if they look good, the're not),all output transistors, all switching rails mosfets and the double diodes as well, only then you can have little bit of trust in it,if only one driver or output have the smallest problem you blew again 20 parts,so replaceing all the related parts with power suppy and output will fix it,not to mention that i found even the Op-Amp blown in one, however the supply zeneers were fine,i hate chinese craps!

I ordered all transistors, mosfets and diodes for both channels.
Never thought it was a chinese amp, both db and rcf have this model and are italian.

I may fix it and sell it... Should make a decent profit when it's working again.
Then I'll look for a used crown/qsc/powersoft

All the parts from inside are Japanese, output Sanken etc, even the network filter is Jpanese as well...but it sounds nothing like a Japanese amplifier...it sounds so mud...lack of details....like you listen on a 1936 valve radio LOL
